Anybody else update their phone to take advantage of the wireless charging ? (or was I the only one to succumb to their inner geek)

How do you update a phone to take advantage of wireless charging? It's down to the hardware in the phone. If it's equipped to wireless charge then it will.

I upgraded to a phone with the hardware.

You can get a QI adapter so you could literally update a old phone if you want:

I've tried this on an older phone, but found it used to get pretty warm and ended up killing the battery in the phone. However this was a 3 year old phone and the battery wasn't great to begin with.

I would recommend only using wireless charging on a phone that has it built in personally, almost all them have it these days.

Even though my phone supports wireless charging, the SE doesn't have satnav so I need Android Auto anyway. As AA only works wired with the MG4, the lack of wireless charging in the SR is a moot point.
