Hi; about 2 weeks i have the new car, but the only big default is ; when you start to go to the highway... more then 120km/h the motor is loud... 4000 rpm...grr.. it's not really nice. It's i think because the battery is to low power...what is your opinion on this car... rest for the city is ok. Thanks. Salutations from Switzerland.

Hi. Those revs do sound a little on the high side but at that speed I don’t think the battery power is involved, just the petrol engine.
My limited experience of driving the car on the UK motorway at 112 km/h gave me 3200 rpm.

Mine runs perfectly most of the time but now and again on hills I get rev sounds. It's very short lived but not very nice.

At the risk of repetition, hybrids provide excellent MPG, I’m getting 56mpg on normal driving. But they use a complex computer system to achieve this, and the outcome is a different driving experience, to other internal combustion cars.
Following the release of software upgrade PD052, the dangerous lack of power syndrome has been overcome, I think. But to ensure the main battery never depletes to less than 30% the engine is employed to keep the battery charged, hence the revs.

The reason I replied to you, was because you said, “ I don’t think the battery power is involved, just the petrol engine.” in your response.
If you do some research, you will discover that the main source of energy, for acceleration and high speed e.g. 112 km/h (70mph) will be the battery. If you look at the instrument display you will probably see HEV, this indicates that the car is combining the power sources to propel the car in the most efficient way.
By the way, congratulations regarding your 60-70 mpg.

What about the over revving on hills it’s so annoying
30mph and 4000 revs doesn’t seem right but dealership says it’s normal?
