MG ZS EV (2022) - Tow bar question. How much and what to consider.

I would like to get a removeable tow bar fitted to tow small traliers (recycling), camping etc.
How much is it likely to cost and what do I have to consider. My home screen has a towing mode setting.
My own research compared to previous cars is the bar and fittings is about £200 and was the same price for another car in about 2005 and fitting is about £200.

I've found the previous ones quite hard to remove so I mostly just left it attached unless servicing or selling.

My selling dealer said it wasn't reccomended to fit to the ZS EV but that was in 2023 when I bought it new, but it was fine for ICE cars.

Hello mrg9999, I just bought a verry good 2nd hand ZS ev mk 2019-21 and I also like to mount a tow bar but here in Belgium it isn't allowed for this mk for a remorque or caravan, you can mount a tow bar to carry bikes and that's it so now I have to look for a ZS ev mk 2022, the facelift one, on this you may mount a tow bar to have a remorque or caravan for max 500Kg. greetz

In Denmark the ZS EV 2.gen is also only rated for 500 kg so unless you have a very small and light caravan, it's probably not going to be an option for you to (legally) tow your caravan.

Tow hitch on the 2.gen MG ZS EV is primarily for a small to medium trailer of max 500 kg
