mine is early 2022 Trophy and I have iSmart app working, no problems. Have you tried? Is there an option in the menu to bind the car?

Did all trims have this, i was under the impression that the "Trophy connect" was needed ?

Or maybe that was just for live traffic and whatnot.

Then it definitely should have Ismart capability without a doubt.
The connect model was the top spec and it came as an extra £500 on the list price, over the Trophy 🏆.

Ive asked 2 separate dealerships and they said it hasn't however they didn't really want to talk to me as Brighton mg my local is shutting down next week

Did you buy your car new ?.
Could it be second hand / X demonstrator model etc.
I only ask, because I would have thought that you would have connected to the Ismart function before now ?.
If it IS a used car, then that explains it of course !.
When the first owner / dealership has bound to a phone then it has to unbound from THAT phone before you can bind your phone to it.
I think you need to speak to a dealer with a good reputation for solving problems on your MG.
Unfortunately the level of knowledge and customer service is very inconsistent to say the least.

You can initiate the bind from the car itself - as others have stated, it starts a 72 hour timer so they original owner can either accept earlier (as happened with me) or just wait it out.

The wording in the car is not intuitive, but you need to have created an account inside the app, and then attempt to scan yourself in.

I'm sorry that I've forgotten the exact procedure, but you can definitely do it.

Thanks for the info. I've messaged to get the QR code up and although the car says it's connected my phone doesn't. I believe the previous owner is still connected to it so I've asked the sales guy to contact them to unbind. Step closer . Thanks

As I suspected then, it looks like the car is still bound to the previous owner.
I never under why the sales person who buys in the car, does not ensure that this has been done tbh ?.
Unless the car has been bought in for stock that is.
Everybody is different of course,I know.
But when I traded in our Gen2 ZS EV.
I unbound my phone from the car, cleared all of the stored data from the Sat Nav ( including home address of course ) and printed off all of the service documents for the new owner.
It was a good job that I retained the paper work as evidence, as one of the dealers that did a service has now closed down !.
The sales person had a “check box” sheet in front of him on collection.
He was only concerned that the car had two key fobs with it and that I had the V5 document.
I insisted that he checked the car over and that the granny charger etc was included with the car when we traded it in.
The car was sold on to its new owner, in less than 12 hours.
Assume nothing, check everything is my moto.

On the subject of ismart, anyone managed to bind two cars on one app?
Probably needs two accounts and logging out of one to log into another?

You initiating the binding in the car means that, after a certain amount of hours, the previous owner gets unbound. It's about 72 hours maximum. Unfortunately, all you can do is hope the previous owner unbinds sooner, or simply wait :)

They don't need to unbind, after 72 hour of previous owner not connecting, it wipes them and allows you access.
