Hi everyone,

Had the misfortune of someone swiping the car with a handbag or something of the like the other weekend.

I ordered the official Pimlico Blue touch up from the dealer and have attempted to use it.

I feel I may have made the issue worse. Although I'm not sure it's the right paint match.

Does anyone have experience of using touch up paint and any tips on how to fix this?

Thanks

Colour doesn't look right, but it is always more difficult trying to touch up metallic paint. Use less paint and polish with t-cut or something similar to blend in.

Less is more.
Multiple thin coats is the best approach although that colour definitely doesn't look right.

I find the best way is to fill the scratch/chip with thin layers of paint building up slowly till just proud then cut back with some 3000 grit then polish BTW I apply paint with a cotton bud and I find the touch up paint on ebay with lacquer built in using paint code on car
Ps. that paint you used look more like the Battersea blue as looks I bit darker?

Get it done professionally. I have messed for hours with previous cars. It has never come out right.
