MG4 X-Power 2026 facelift review

Decent little snippet.

Interestingly, the MG UK brochure shows the new car (including the XPOWER) having a grey headlining, but that review car has a black headlining. For what it’s worth, I much prefer a black headlining.

Brochure also states full LED rear lights now, but the demo cars I’ve seen still have incandescent rear indicators and reverse lights.

Can only assume these demo cars are slightly outdated and parts bin knock ups.

Two cup holders instead of the (virtually useless) wireless charging pad?
And as for the brakes... I can only assume he's never driven a "proper" performance car...

Explain "proper" performance car. One that can do 0-60 In less than 3.7 secs.
As the X Power would leave most "proper" performance cars in it's wake.
Just curious. 🙂👍

To be fair they only get to have a quick drive in these cars.

That's why, don't take these Videos to much to heart. A quick drive or even a good few hours won't give you a proper insight into owning a particular car. It'll give you a snippet of an idea, but that's all. Actual ownership of the car, does that. 🙂👍

Agree, I never bother with these 'youtube' efforts. I just wait until a dealer has a car and then go look at it and test drive it, same with all of the motorcycles I've owned. Exactly what I did with my Xpower.

One that can also stop and turn well. I've owned lots of 'em. The XPower has the fastest 0-60 of any car I've owned but IMO it's very much a one trick pony - a great trick, no question - but just the one. It's a car which gives a good specific performance... but not a performance car in the traditional sense. My last 6 cars would easily thrash it round a handling circuit (except perhaps the 350Z roadster... that also had a weight problem... sorry, it was "big boned"...)

Agree, other slower in a straight line performance cars, would leave it in the twisty bits and certainly on a track. But I'm betting not many if any have took an X Power on a track day. And for everyday driving even on the twisty's the X Power's
brakes and suspension set up, is perfectly fine. And let's face it, straight line acceleration, (traffic light Grand Prix) 😉
is all the majority of X Power owner's are bothered about. 🙂👍
