No, the second. The first one, fitted the week prior, improved the vibration sufficiently to the satisy the owner (one of 3 XP owners to have complained about the issue including myself). Although there was evidently "still a buffeting noise at certain speeds".

The big thing for me as @Bricktop X PWR has said the fix is potentially only masking the issue and for all we know the new ones from the factory could just be masking the issue also with what has been done to them. The question remains what are the long term impacts through potential impacts on the car and this is where MG needs to be transparent but they arent

Fingers crossed and all that) Mind you I don't actually know what the vibes feel like. The test drives I had in 2 different X Power's, prior to buying this one, I couldn't feel any vibes on those either.
But to me anyway, mine feels, Ok. ??

I'm in the same boat, December 23 build but I really don't know what the vibes are like, some of the Uk roads you get vibrations anyway and noisy because they cheap out on the road surfaces.

You know what it's like when you're driving along on a tarmac motorway, and it switches to concrete/cement? The noise gets suddenly loud, the drive gets hard, and the car vibrates as it "drums"? It's like that. But you're on tarmac and doing 63mph!

You have to turn the radio up, talk louder, and if you drive like that for a while, your fingers/grip starts to go tingly & numb. You certainly can't grip the wheel for long in the manner in which your driving instructor would tell you!

If you have it, you'd know.

It's fine if you just drive it to work and back, and don't drive much above 62mph. You even forget it has an issue and enjoy the drive. But the minute you get on a motorway, it's like a rude awakening.

I drive down to Glastonbury from Leeds each Summer, and I wouldn't dream of taking the XP with this issue. It would be unbearable on a 5 hour drive.

It shouldn't be this way!

I didn't realise how bad it was, you're right that should never be allowed.

I hope when MG get wind of this class action they will pull their finger out, but let's be honest it should have never got to this point.

The vibe is meant to be quite noticeable. Are you sure it’s not just the subtle vibrations from under inflated tyres? I got that a lot with the stock tyres, a bit less with what I have now, but only if tyres are under inflated. Temperatures have dipped: my tyres were at 2.6 bar in the morning all last week until yesterday when they went down to 2.35 and got the warning.

The vibration seems to vary a lot from car to car. My CoC was 27/11/2023

Mine had bad vibes from 57 to 73 mph from day 1. Steering wheel vibrates, LCD buzzes and squeeks on it mounts, rear view mirror view blurred, passenger side floor pan resonates, keys in centre boxes rattle. It wouldn't be so bad but this is all at typical cruising speeds. Totally unacceptable on a modern car, especially an EV. A 70's diesel land rover maybe.

Had all the "fixes" done but no improvement.

Managed to reject it after about 5 months of wrangling. Shame, because otherwise it was a good car and brilliant value for money with stunning performance. But don't plan any long trips because the vibes do your head in.

Would you mind putting together a very brief summary of the processs you went through to succeed in rejection as somewhere along the line MG UK must have accepted it was not "fit for purpose " or "not of a satisfactory quality".. Maybe post it in here :-

My PCP runs out next September ... I doubt it will be setted by then. I can see this lasting years myself if it goes through the courts. My VW dieselgate claim should have been cut and dry but that has been going on for three or four years now !! I think you'll find this is a different...

What it does provide is circumstantial evidence that MG are aware of customers suffering with this issue, and that they've at least once accepted a customer rejecting their car.

To be fair, MG are up Shit Creek without a paddle on this issue and I will gladly see them in court along with the rest of us, if required.

The evidence against them is already overwhelming.

I personally don't care if it takes another year as currently, its like renting a car for £215 per month.

I'll put something together, might take a while. The printed correspondence is 53 pages long. There's least another 30 emails I've not bothered to print copies of.

I rejected it via the leasing company, and they coughed up. MGUK were not particularly helpful, "characteristic of the vehicle" garbage. In the end the car was collected by British Car Auctions. I suspect it did not go back to MGUK for fixing.
