the X power will not get 400km range .. unless maybe if you stick it in eco which basically defeats the purpose of buying a X power..I can't understand why you would want to cart around 800kms of battery capacity, if you weren't going to use that sort of range in a single trip.
The MG4 51 gets us from Mannum to Adelaide and back on a single charge and that is fine for local range, but on a trip, 400kms cruising at 110km/h would be great, that allows for a top up at a fast charger while enjoying a coffee and bite to eat to stretch the legs, a lunch stop for a more serious recharge, an afternoon stop and still make 700kms to 800kms in a days drive.
If we were going off the beaten track or across to WA regularly, then the 800km range would be good, but we don't do that, so 400kms in a single push or without a charger would be enough for us, but each to their own I guess

I 100% agree whats the point of buying the X power then complaining about the range ..
To start this is my first electric car and in fairness they kinda lie about real world range.
After Driving the X power for a near on 2 years ( i do love the power ) it is stupidly over powered ( others would disagree ) give me a little less power 700-800km range and im sold..
Sadly in AUS we really dont have many super super fast charging stations ( not many if any charging at the 400kw 800v platforms ) yet so even if i was charging my 800km range battery at 150kw which is more common ( i usually use a 75kw when its not broken because its closer to where i live) agreed double if not triple the time but you would off set that by the amount of times visiting a charge station.
There is currently only 3 charge stations ( when i say 3 i mean 3 4 bay charge stations) the closest is about 10 minutes drive away from my house and thats only 75kw charge the other 2 are 15 to nearly 20 minutes away and they are 150kw which kinda defeats the purpose because by the time i get back home ive lost more charge than the closer one ..
Now if they put the 77kwh battery in the X power that would be a win for customers probably giving you a genuine 400km range in normal mode
If rumours are true and they are dropping the price of 2026 X power then why not add a 77kwh option at a higher cost !
