Hi Guys new to the forum
I have a MG5 from new 2022 with 150 000 miles on the clock.
No warranty issues experienced or reported
Never been to a Dealer or garage since I owned it !
The car covers 1000 plus miles a week operating between London, Yorkshire, Ireland and Shropshire.
The brakes are all original from new with 35% wear.
Winter range 125-150 mi
Summer range 145-180 mi
Vehicle carries 250-400kg of equipment and ladders on roof rack occasionally.
Every day it is charged up to 100% home charge
80-95% on CCS chargers speeds. Between 45kW to 90kW depending on CCS output.
All maintenance done by my self and heavy jobs by friends in the trade.
I will keep this vehicle for another two years 230-250k miles before replacing.
Lucky I can claim the full cost of the vehicle and vat through my business.

Bad things !
Infotainment head crap reboots randomly ( lucky iPhone connection!)

Would like more range and faster charging :)

Replacement parts to date:
Front lower arms
Shocks front and rear
1 x brake fluid change
Plus service every 40k miles ( 8 months )
Tyres 20-30k miles mid range tyres

P. S. This vehicle saves me around £6-8k Year over a diesel equivalent vehicle.

(You can follow me on IG mg5mileeater for more info )

Future Replacement Tesla model 3 long range or VW ID bus cargo in the next 18months

P. S. Name's John

John. Great to hear a positive review on a MG. 🙂👍

Good to hear. I only do a small mileage, but seriously thinking about self servicing to save the horror of dealer interaction and warranty be damned, might just get the first low mileage service done and risk it. As they say, it's the old "bathtub curve" on a graph of likely failures. If nothing serious fails over the first year or two, it's unlikely to suffer a major failure for many years.

Great news and good to hear about its longevity. May I ask...

1) have you monitored HV battery SOH over the period. If so, is degradation linear wrt. mileage.
2) have you done any reduction-gear oil changes?

Gearbox oil due to be done soon ( when I get round to it ! )
Yes battery degradation is present 15-20% possibly not seen 200 miles range for a year now, but that could be down to load roof rack etc etc.
A lot of very 3-5am starts and battery will be cold. I get more range in the day when battery is at normal temperature.
I don't worry about that as there are more CCS chargers on my routes.
If it gets too bad I'll just buy another battery from a scrap EV5, £2500 avg price.

So you guys stop worrying about your 2-3% range loss !!!!!

I'm worrying about your quality of life more than your battery degradation, doing that mileage and starting at 3 to 5am!! Don't burn yourself out.

That's rather nice of you old chap ! Mm? The no 68 on your name ? Is that the year you was born ?? ( just a question?)

I was born in '66 ! And been doing this for 40 years ha ha but thanks for the msg.

Yes, born in '68. Been retired since 52 though, as unlike yourself, I'm obviously a lazy bugger! There's only ever been one 5 o'clock in my day, I'm not a morning person lol! Curious to know what it is you do that involves so much travel? (No problem if you don't want to disclose!)

Only joking about being lazy, (not about the morning thing though!) maybe retired is the wrong description too as I do far from nothing. Just all that I do now, I want to, hobbies, travel, fun, rather than the stuff I didn't really want to do but had to just to earn money! ;)

I do have a good social life aswell lol
