I love my MG5, but one thing I hated was the boot—it was a pain to close. Whenever I was holding a box, I had to rest it on the rear window ledge while using my other hand to close the boot. No matter how carefully I tried, it always slammed shut.

I found a kit and was a bit sceptical at first, but after having it installed, I’m over the moon! It has completely transformed the car, and best of all—no more boot slamming.

Sorry missed the replies. Yes it was hard to install. I never installed it myself my local garage installed it and the install took someone almost a full day. Lots of parts to remove and reinstall on the car.

I have a ZS and my son installed my power boot. I also purchased from aliexpress, and the kit was great - the electrical connections were all ‘plug and play’ as they advertised, and that part was easy according to my son. However, getting all the wiring through was extremely time consuming. My son is not an auto electrician, just an excellent DIYer. It took the best part of a day.

Looks really good. Also like the idea of fitting a front/rear dash cam which largely requires the same bits to be pulled apart and can share same cable route etc, so makes good sense to do in one hit. Another one to go on the to-do list 🧐👍

Hi. Can you please share the link for zs power kit? TIA

@Ladyshar - if you search on their site, you will see the kits available from several sellers, and I would imagine the kits are identical. They are priced between £310 - £330, depending on whether you want the additional kick sensor. I didn’t need that. Everything works well with the original key. Makes my life so much easier!
