MG5 EV sales - local dealer info

I bought a new MG5 in December 2022 from my local MG dealer. Apart from the initial issue I had with fast charging (bad power supply unit) we’re happy with the car.

I went back in to the dealership this month (April) and the guy said my MG5 is the only MG5 they have sold! He’s selling on average 1 MG4 a week across two dealerships though. I love the MG4 but it just wasn’t practical for our family of 2 small children and the SUV had months of lead time. We tested the 5 and loved it. I think folks are just preferring SUVs over estates these days?

Do you folks see many MG5s in your area? I haven’t seen any so far!

I’ve not seen a single facelift MG5 in 5000+miles of driving since Dec 22. They only seem to live on forecourts and auto trader. Have seen a few pre FL 5’s and 4’s in the wild.

Loads of pre-FL 5's around here but not seen a FL yet. In fact last week my missus went to Morrisons and when she came out there were 6, yes 6, in a row all parked together next to ours. Wish she'd taken a pic. Seen a couple 4's but that's all.

We test drove the MG4 against the MG5 and much preferred the MG5.

I live in Hampshire and I also see more MG5 s than MG4 in our area.
I have ZS Ev and am thinking of part exchanging it with an MG5 for bigger space and better range.

SAIC sound like they are only geared up for one production line and that’s at capacity right now making the 4.

I’ve seen zero face-lifted 5s.

Quite a few Pre FL 5s in my part of the world and quite a few are taxis they appear to favoured as the replacement for Toyota Prius as there are many available now at much lower prices.

Frequently find our twin red MG5 in the car park Monday mornings where the better half goes for her exercise class.

As for EVs in general we now see quite a lot. Only yesterday we were one of 3 in the queue at a set of lights. me with a Tesla and an Audi. By the next set the Tesla had been replaced by a VW, the at the 3rd we had lost the Audi but were joined by a Peugeot. All with the green flash on the number plate.

I see more MG5's now than a year ago, some i see the same ones daily, all pre facelift versions.
Most i see are grey/silver.

I’ve seen a FL MG5 in the wild! Multi-storey car park in Roskilde, Denmark. Still yet to see one in the UK.

Mine is 30/06/23 but the sales guy said it may be a bit later than that.

I've probably waved at both of you and the half dozen cabbies I see. I work in romford/Hornchurch/cranham/Rainham.

I see ZS facelifts and MG4s near home in witham. But never seen a facelift 5.

I often see a red facelift 5 parked in the next charging bay to me in Tesco ...never seen the driver though
