MG5 LR Exclusive USB ports stay live?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if the front USB ports on the pre-facelift MG5 stay live when you switch off and lock the car, or do they power down? I have an Android Auto wireless adapter and wondering if I can leave it plugged in or need to disconnect it every time I leave the car, as I don't want to flatten the 12v battery.

If you watch the little light on the AA Wireless you'll see if goes off when you power down.

Mine stays live and AA Wireless is left plugged in without any problems (so far !)

Well I thought it went off. Will have another look! I always leave it plugged in anyway.

It does go off on mine, but it does stay live for quite a while after switch off

Thanks everyone, now I can confidently experiment without worrying about getting stranded

It stays live for a few minutes I think as it doesn't seem to turn off when you switch the car off, but does seem to after locking the car and leaving it.

The Carlinkit v4 supposedly does android auto as well as CarPlay.

I’m not sure if it uses CarPlay to connect to the car though. (Not a problem for the MGs as they support both).

My v3 mini (CarPlay only) works most of the time occasionally it decides it doesn’t want to talk to the car.

I've have mine for over a year, it has the odd freeze now and again but a quick unplug/ plug sorts it out.

Is most likely the case that's freezing rather than the aa wireless.
I use mine everyday with waze for dodging traffic from work.

I have also used AA Wieless for an untroubled year in my MK1 Excel. Just one slight problem early on resolved by forcing AAW to use 2.4 ghz connection via their app.?
