Just a bit of advice really.
I bought a space saver spare wheel ( VW golf, excellent condition ) which came with a golf jack and brace, I also bought some Golf wheel nuts as advised on this forum. Thanks to all who posted on this subject. I was not happy with the golf jack so decided to buy a scissor jack rated at 2T. I bought one off Ebay but when I came to test it a nasty grinding noise came from it and it subsequently jammed and the wheel was not even off the ground. Greasing it up and testing it again, bits of metal started breaking of it and the spacer next to the winding point was actually breaking up!
Thankfully after a bit of discussion with the seller I have returned it for a refund. I have now been down to my local Motorbitz and bought a streetwise jack for £28 that works fine.
So, lesson learned, don't by a cheap jack for your spare wheel kit!
