MG5 pfl APP control??

Hi Fellow MG5 owners,
I just bought my first MG5 LR pfl 2022. I know it is not compatible with mg ismart. Is there a third party App available out there, possibly via obd2 connection, that can enable to check stats like charging status and/or turn on the aircon remotely to pre heat or cool the cabin?
Please list any apps you use and the obd2 devices that are safe to use.

Welcome to the MGEV Community.

No, there are, as far as I am aware, no apps that can be used with the pre-facelift MG5 because it lacks the necessary hardware to connect to any app.

As for obd2 scanners; if you do a search in the forums you will find a number of recommendations for units that work, or don't! Speaking personally, I have this one which works very successfully with Car Scanner Pro on my Android phone.

Thanks. Do you leave the scanner in the obd port? Does it drain much battery?

I don't leave it connected but simply insert it when I want to check the latest readings.
