Does'nt even mention reduction gear oil change. My dealer said it was optional at 4th year. MG UK says is mandatory if you want warranty cover. So "clearly laid out for all to see..." isnt quite right.

Just in case the main deal was spouting "hearsay", I emailed MG UK explicitly asking them if and when the reduction gear oil needed changing. I mailed [email protected]:

"For avoidance of doubt, can you please confirm whether or not the MG5 needs it's reduction gear oil changed at the 4th year. I've looked at the online service schedule at : https://www.mg.co.uk/servicing. It doesn't even mention the reduction gear oil change. Not even at the 4th or 5th year service"

The complete reply from [email protected] was :

"It needs to be done after 4 years of registration or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first"
