I have read some threads regarding seat wear in MG models. The photo below was taken from an advert on AutoTrader - the car has done 127,000 miles. Not sure of the year but it is a long range version.
Obviously I have no idea how the vehicle has been used, for example as a Taxi or just a single high mileage user.

The drivers seat wear in the photo looks reasonable.

I would post the advert but I am not sure of the Forum Rules regarding posting an advert. It is with an MG Dealer and is up for £8,390.

Photo of the drivers seat wear was the main point of this post

Some bolster wear would be normal at this mileage so that doesn't look too bad.
Of course, the size and weight of the driver plays a big part in this!

Exactly, it depends on how it was used for 127,000 miles.

My drivers bolster on the seat base split in multiple places just after a year (6000 miles)
£184 for the seat base cover from MG and about 1.5 hours for me to fit it
😃👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
My 2021 MG5 Has worn badly at 32k with no abuse, wondering how they will treat on end of lease?

At least I have a ball park figure for replacement, and pictures from Web & here for ammunition. Definitely not a fake leather fan.

Hi Ian, do you know the part number for the seat base cover by chance?

Mine has started splitting on the bottom seat bolster after 3 years/23k miles. Comforting to know that replacements won't break the bank, but does anyone know any good lines to take with MG to threaten them with a 'not fit for purpose' claim? The vinyl driver's seat in my 50 year old MG Midget is in no worse condition!!

It is pretty appaling that they wear to this extent. My previous Excite obviously had cloth seats, but 40k+ miles and no wear. Bought my Exclusive at 21k miles and the pleather seat base bolster was already splitting.

I saw a warning on this from a video by James & Kate the Cleevely mobile repairs team. So fitted seat covers/protectors. I can see that edge of the drivers seat always gets ruffled.

Which seat covers did you fit? I want something for the hot weather and to stop my seat splitting any more.

Just ordered some, our seats look like new at 60k, but we find them a bit sweaty. Gone for the black and navy, thanks for the link.
