MGS5 didn’t accelerate in uphill slope

Well, you definitely want to try again and make sure it all works and that you are doing what you are supposed to... find a quiet road somewhere and try again.

I might have missed something here but are you guys using auto-hold? Mine works perfectly and on slightly steeper roads will hold for a second longer than on a flat road ...
I never had any problems going up or down the hill or parking on a slope, and my driveway is quite steep... I'm on my second MG EV and both were fine ...

I am using auto-hold on my MG4. I find the manual handbrake is necessary any time I need to reverse direction on my steep hill while manoeuvring. It is simple, easy and quick to do and not in any way a problem. If I don't do this, then often the car will not move when I select the reversed mode (i.e. R->D or D->R) and the car has always done this.

But in light of the above, I'll give it go next time with a firmer shove of the brake pedal, perhaps I am just not activating HHC in these circumstances.

Think I'll stick with the handbrake, easy enough to use once you get the hang of it ....
