MGS5 Hatch drain holes?

It is a well known issue on MG5 that the door drain seals were not untaped on PDI. happened to me as well as quite a few others.
Recently got an MGS5 and inspected the doors, on which there appear to be no drain holes at all which is interesting. But on looking at the rare hatch door the lower lip has three holes. On mine one of the holes (the central one) was open and the other two (either side) were plugged with a rubber bung. I have asked the dealer about this but not yet had any response.
Has anyone else found this anomaly, is it intentional or an error on PDI? Photos attached.

You wouldn't need drain holes in the hatch as there's no way for water to get in.

There's always a way for water to get into places it's no wanted.
