Miles per Minute (Best Charging Session)

Was updating ye olde charging record spreadsheet today and noticed that there had been some pretty good fast charger sessions.

My best charging session was adding 7.6 miles of range for each minute the car was on charge so 10 minutes of charge added 76 miles
That was 15% to 53% on a Tesla rapid charger averaging 138 kw charge speed. that was in March 2024 so not even the middle of Summer.

Start efficiency was 2.91 miles per kw and end was 3.14 miles per kw so nothing special.

I stopped recording mine a while ago, mostly using the Zappi at home but in July 23 I added a little over 80 miles in just under 10 minutes also at a Tesla supercharger hitting 142 kW for a little while.

Peak miles-per-minute usually happens around 20–60% state of charge, so your 15–53% run hits the sweet spot. To get even more efficiency, try preconditioning the battery and avoiding very low or high charge levels. The rise in efficiency at the end shows your battery handled the fast charge really well.
