Hi, just got my new MGS6 yesterday! I’m able to connect successfully with CarPlay and view my contacts within CarPlay. But if I clicked on the MG interface phone icon, it says not connected. And when someone calls, it shows the mobile number but not the name of my contact calling. Does anyone have the same issue or solution?

Have you paired the phone with the car in bluetooth settings and allowed it to share contacts?

yes, this would be down to your phone settings, need to allow sharing contacts and calls history with the car. The only issue I had so far is that on one outgoing call, the other side couldn't hear me but it worked on the second attempt. This was using Android Auto so probably not down to the car itself

Same noticed today with an Android - Google Pixel 8a. My watch buzzed to tell me there was a call, but nothing from the car, and Android Auto was connected which needs BT to establish then uses WiFi. I'll unpair and repair...oh, look at that - re-pair.

Thanks for all the replies! Yes, I did connect and sync contacts with Bluetooth successfully. But whenever I connect to CarPlay, the Bluetooth will disconnect my phone automatically. Hence, to see the person’s name when they call, I need to go into CarPlay. I just went to the dealer center and the service person mentioned this is how the MG interface system works.

For the dealers, they often don't really know the car in detail so we all gather here 😅for some self-help. I don't have an iPhone but should be the same as for Android ...
Just to make sure I understand -
"whenever I connect to CarPlay, the Bluetooth will disconnect my phone automatically. Hence, to see the person’s name when they call, I need to go into CarPlay" -

you mean you normally have your MG screen on "regular Bluetooth MG view" (to call it that way) with CarPlay running underneath and when someone rings, you have to click CarPlay button to see their name? Not sure what you mean when you say that "Bluetooth will disconnect" because if that happened, CarPlay wouldn't work either?
Do you get a pop-up box notifying you of the call and what that shows, just the number and no name associated with that number?

Yes, usually I’m on the MG screen and CarPlay is running in the background. If someone calls, I see the mobile number and not the caller name. I would need to click on the human icon in incoming call window and it will then bring me into CarPlay to show the caller name. Based on what I experienced, the Bluetooth disconnect applies to the contact sync only after connecting to CarPlay and this is a default protocol in MG interface.
