MOT advisory

Hi all need some help. On my MOT advisory it says shock absorbers light misting of oil nearside rear. When I get the next MOT it will fail because of this (used as a taxi).
Has anyone else had this and what was the cost of repair. Its a 22 plate MG5?

Hi everyone,

My 22 reg LR has just hit 80k miles, and my rear shock absorbers have given up the ghost.
A friend of mine has offered to fit them, but he's been unable to get ahold of any.

Has anyone on here done the same job? And if so, where did you source the parts from?

Tried to jack up the car yesterday but no joy. Do I need a special jack as the car is heavier than a petrol car?

Nothing special, it's just a slightly heavier than average car (but not the heaviest by far EV or ICE), so Just a jack that can take the weight, and the muscles to operate it if needed.

Sounds like a problem with your jack.
Is it hydraulic?

What type of jack are you using Mick, any trolly jack should lift it, but ideally a 2 tonne or better, if you're trying to use a scissor jack, you'll probably struggle.
