When cleaning the MG ZS Hybrid+ wheels, is it possible to inch the car forward (without a driver) just a few inches to reposition them?

Whilst we are not fond of our new 1 yr old Hybrid+, we like to keep it looking smart. Hubby thinks the wheels are a right pain to clean and wonders how he can manoeuvre the car (without having to call me to drive it) just a few inches each time during a wash to reposition the wheels for easier cleaning.

On our old manual Xsara picasso you just let the handbrake off and pushed a bit :)

I like to do the same when I'm cleaning my wheels, and I don't know if you can do it with the ZS, but with my MG4 I put it into Neutral and push it forwards/backwards half a wheel, I have to reach my leg in and apply the footbrake, but it saves having to sit in and drive to move it.

Thanks gave it a try. Was quite amusing seeing hubby pretending to be a contortionist (he's a non driver and not that agile at 82). It gave me a laugh and something else for him to rant about the MG. 😁

Sort of, even with me in the car having put in N the car only moved perhaps a quarter wheel turn when pushed from outside then locked up. Maybe a safety feature.

I did notice after a recent SW update to the gearbox (please don't ask the code, it was fresh in December and only released 2 days before I received it and the dealer had no info what it does, complaining in that respect about their poor info status of teh content/fixes of new SW versions) that the car will now no longer let me drive of after once I ubnbuckle the seat belt, e.g. to correct my parking job, it is in P and remains there (quite a few cars do it, however my MG initially didn't), although initially it will let me drive without one after start. Also it no longer allows to switch to N in movement (or enter into D form N when rolling), only compelet standstill, so a bit more of a pain to enter some car washes. SO I assume any kind of rolling/pushing limits are (potentially added) safety features of sort.

On a plus side I will add that auto hold now works a lot smoother.
