Music will not turn off

John I'm sorry but I really don't know what you are on about. Taking your example.
I arrive home with shopping, I get out, I'll leave the radio on, not blurting out, just on, or turn it off with the toggle on the steering wheel. Open the hatch, take the shopping out. Close the hatch. Lock the car. That's it. End of.
This thread is a prime example, of over thinking, the simplest of things. 🙄🤪
I always turn the radio off in respect to my neighbours, not quite sure why you deem it a good thing to leave it on with the unattended. It wouldnt do for us all to like the same, MG is the ONLY make I know that the radio behaves like this, not over thinking me and others, under thinking by MG

Ok, John. We'll leave it at that. 🙂👍

Press mute on the steering wheel or pause on the screen. It will switch off by itself after 5-10 min. But - my friend had his car stolen from his "secure" garage as it was left unlocked. Your insurance would not cover the loss.

Try pressing the start button without pressing the brake, that gets the car into half-ready mode (yellow led on the start button is on). Haven't tried it but might work ...

I'm intrigued by this thread as my 2020 ZS EV does exactly what the OP wants.....when I switch the vehicle off with the start/stop button the radio powers off immediately (before I've got out and locked the car..... it then comes on with the same station when I next get in and switch on)

Therefore wondering if this issue is one of the improvements on the facelift model?

Hi everyone
Apologies if this has been discussed. I have a MG ZS EV. I park my car in a secure garage, and I turn off the engine. However my music on the infotainment keeps going, so I have to lock the car to turn off the music. Is there a way the music can be turned when I turn the engine off, so I do not have to lock the car
Allan
Hi, press the pause button and music stops. There is a time delay for the infotainment system to close down. After a short while (infotainment still active) a message will appear advising the system will close down within a number of seconds and you have the option to close it down immediately or wait until countdown reaches zero or, cancel closedown.
I have installed a dongle to give me wireless Android Auto which allows the vehicle to pick up data from my phone for the period the infotainment system is within range. I would imagine if you are using wired Android or Apple Auto, link would be broken when you disconnect the phone but the screen would remain active for the short period mentioned above.
I hope me elongated suggestion is of some help and puts your mind at ease.
All the best.

I'm sure my car Trigger has intelligence. The radio doesn't stop when you power off till you lock the car.
But on start up there are many variations:-
1. the radio starts when you press the start button
2. the radio needs a separate start
3. the car plays a welcome message
4. the car doesn't play a welcome message
5. it tells you the weather
6. it doesn't tell you the weather. That implies it isn't activated
7. the infotainment screen is black & slowly slowly an MG symbol appears

She is not the fastest milkcart in the west for nothing. AI lives!!!!

I've tried this question on my "home" forum to no avail.

However I leave the radio (almost always R4 on DAB), next time I get back in, a ghastly rock station at the bottom of the FM range blares out.

Everyone on the S5 EV forum says that it doesn't happen to them, any thoughts here?

not happening to me ... strange that it would switch from DAB to FM ...have you saved R4 in your favourites? try that and see if that helps. also, how is your DAB signal where you park the car, strong enough?
