Sitting in the car, started to play with the knobs (on the car before anyone asks) and buttons to see what they do I started the sat nav for the very first time. All I go was an arrow, no roads at all. Entered my home address and was told no roads nearby. Is it trashed? If I try to update it will it fix it? Or back to the dealer when I can to get them to fix it?.

Never use it as use Waze all the time via AA.

Try holding the button in for a few secs and rebooting. If no good back to dealer I would say. Do you like your new car?

Agreed hold the home button until the screen goes blank and the MG symbol comes back on, that is a infotainment system reboot.

You weren't by any chance sat in your garage were you ?
The nav needs line of sight with (IIRC) 3 satellites to show the map.
