Ncap fail for mg3 hybrid

The car/s tested were left hand drive, so I wonder if that makes any difference, obviously not if all the seat latching mechanisms are the same, but something to think about?
Hi Clive that makes me worry about the safety of my front seat passenger if the cars were left hand drive then both seats brackets need replacing my wife is already worried about traveling in the car i better not tell her the cars tested were left hand drive

As a general rule, I never tell the wife anything anyway. ;)

I purchased a 2025 1.5 manual just 3 weeks ago, I would never hand bought it had I known about this serious issue,
I intend to invoke my short term right to reject.

Do we know is if this applies to the 2005 MG3 manual? I’m thinking it probably does.
All cars from August have been rectified so you will have no issues.

I have spoken with my dealer who has emailed MG, and he is waiting for a response, and I have emailed directly to MG asking for some answers and when they expect my car to be fixed, I am not holding my breath for them to reply, and if they do not, I will be contacting my insurance company to see if this invalidates my insurance as it is a failure that the brand is aware of, and refusal to rectify, meaning a higher possibility of claims and claim amounts, may invalidate insurance, in which case I will be taking action to get my money back. Then I will buy the car that now takes my fancy.

That applies only to the seat fixture. The airbag problem is not being addressed until October.
but they are still sorting those cars out, why not the ones that have already been sold, I have only had mine since March, so not that long, not that happy about driving a car that may, no, IS unsafe, and has been advised by the testers to avoid the car completely.... I am supposed to be going to Germany in a couple of weeks and now I am considering going on one of our other cars if I can get the relevant tags and passes in time !

Just a thought was Lespresso,s car built in August or was it registered in August it could have been built earlier then August, my car was registered in April but built in February, he needs to check the build date
No idea, but my dealer was "unable" to tell me when mine was built, it was a march 1st car, so I am assuming late 2024 car build.

This is unbelievable in 2025 I thought the bad old days of car engineering and communication from the manufacturer were long over
Nope, it seems like MG do not want to communicate with their customers, and rarely reply, I have seen no end of complaints about it, the delays in repairing cars, some for months, then dealerships refusing to continue with the repair so customers are having to take cars elsewhere to be repaired, but they cannot do it either, I have no idea what is happening with MG, but it is not doing their reputation any good, and I am getting a bit narked over it, as it has already had to go back to have the hill speed thing done, now this, what next....

I quite agree i have purchased MGs since 2011 and dealt with a MG dealer who was established in 1945 and suffered no problems sorting any faults out then 12 months ago MG took the franchise off this small dealership because they couldn't store or sell enough cars so there's no loyalty from MG to their dealers or customers

A question for everyone who's saying all cars manufactured in August have had the seat fix because MG UK hasn't put any information out about anything?

I have had more MGR-BL-AR-MGUK cars than I can remember, LOL, and even in the bad old days they at least kept in contact, and when I rejected a car after a year, yes one full year, back in 1997 this was, they just replaced it, like for like, there was a lot of threats of legal action etc, but they did, then the car that I got was equally as bad, and as they had then stopped the car (Rover 100) They fixed all the bits that needed fixing, and I got a 6 stack CD player, extended warranty and five years servicing, so you see, it was me that bankrupted the company back then... LOL

But they were always willing to talk, and sort it out, but they seem reluctant to even acknowledge there are issues.... we are in the position of rejecting another car, from Ford this time, and it has been dragging on for ages, but our solicitor is now nearly sure we have won, but there is still that chance. Ford are like MG, they took the dealer at their word and closed the case with Ford UK, now we have further evidence from an independent assessor, and he was shocked at the state of the car, and stated so, so we are going back to Ford, Will see how they react.

MG has stated, as per the NCAP release that cars from August have been rectified. AND that cars prior to this will NOT be sorted out !

It's me again also it's not when the cars registered in August it's when it was built so could have been built in June left in compound for a couple of months then arrives at dealership so wouldn't have the seat problem fixed ? REMEMBER NOT WHEN REGISTERED. WHEN IT WAS BUILT.
