When I called bloke told me 2hrs job max and at the end of conversation he told me of course free of charge,sounded like massive favour to uk customers

So are they actually changing what they need to do to make it safe with proper parts or doing some doggy repair ?

MG are saying up to an hour, but the actual time at the dealer will depend on when they can fit it in.

I have also received a recall notification today dated the 17th November, but the notice. Says the drivers seat mechanism is highlighted only, now if the test car was left hand drive which failed surely both front seat mechanisms should be replaced, because this would leave the uk passenger side faulty

I'm not sure whether or not the left hand and right hand seat runners are the same, but from what I've read, the recall is only for the 6-way adjustable drivers seat, not the 4-way adjustable passenger seat, so maybe the fault is just in the drivers side seat runner, in which case, we'll get modified right hand seat runners, and LHD markets will get modified left hand seat runners.

Have just received a telephone call from Richmond our local Portsmouth MG dealer to say they will carry out this seat runner recall on 18th Dec when I already had it booked in to check on an occasionally stuck window. Apparently, they should even have all the spares to repair the window too! Maybe MG are getting things together...

That’s good news lets, hope so as the amount of cars manufacturers seems to be growing by the day. MG won’t be able to sell just on price anymore.

I checked our car on the Gov.uk website and it says there is no recall.

I think it wont show because MG has put out a service campaign to get the fault fixed ? I could be wrong though

I contacted MG Europe here in France and they said that there will be a recall, but they don't know yet when exactely that will be !
And yes, it's only for the seat with height adjustment apparently.
