hi everyone,

I read on the forum that it is possible to "pop" MG into neutral while driving, to preserve the battery (I'm talking extreme situation here, running out of power etc) now, is it possible to pop it back "into gear" while in motion? The whole thing leads me to another question. Let's have a hypothetical situation of very low state of charge (2-3% let's say), yet all the systems are still on. My question is, can you pop MG5 into neutral and have it towed? I know you are not allowed to tow it when it's completly discharged due to regen and potential motor damage, but how about when you have a bit of charge left and it's on? Thanks!

Page 190 of the manual, says 3mph max and for 3 minutes when loading on to a tow truck.
I would take that as meaning you shouldn't tow or freewheel in neutral.

Don't forget - neutral is just a setting preventing power from being delivered to the motor (in simplistic terms). The drivetrain is still physically connected.
