My MG4 was registered and collected on 29 December but I have not yet received the V5c logbook. I know the DVLA website says it can take 4 weeks to process (and we have had New Year and postal strikes to contend with).

I sold my old car on 3 January and within a week I had received from the DVLA both a road tax refund and confirmation that I was no longer the registered owner. So I know that some bits of the DVLA work quickly.

I’ll chase the logbook after exactly one month but wondered if this delay is usual.

It usually arrives within a week. I would say given the Xmas, new year and strikes, you should receive it within the next few days.

That's a long delay. I received last week mine 3 days after it was registered online.

I chased my logbook today using the webchat facility on .gov.uk. I chased even though they say wait 4 weeks (car was registered 29 Dec).

Turns out that there is an error on the address so they will send a new one - due 3-5 working days.

Definitely worth chasing if you have not received the logbook within 2 weeks
