Another thing I was NOT expected to pay for at £195.00, was the VED ( rod tax ) duty !.
We had a cracking deal on a “pe-reg” car that was only 2 weeks old.
It had been registered in the name of the dealer of course, who paid the usual £10 for the first 12 months, for cars costing less than £40,000’s.
I had my own number plate applied onto the car before collection, as it was sitting on a retention certificate.
This then triggered a return of the dealers £10 and then DVLA charged me the full £195.00 to re-tax again for 12 months !.
Not a bad deal for the DVLA I think, returned the balance to the dealer and then hit me for the full £195 !.
Oh….. Plus I am still waiting for the new V5 back in my name after nearly four weeks !.
I was not expecting THIS outlay on a new car for sure

.
This could be still a lot cheaper than what the government is looking at imposing in tbe budget regarding hitting electric SUV’s weighing over 2000kg’s at £10 per kg !.
That’s covered on another thread of course.
