Car was hit while I was at work last night.

Luckily, they left a note with a name and number.

They don't want to use their insurance if it isn't too expensive but I'm guessing it will be a lot.

Any thoughts on how much it will cost?

Absolute minimum: new bumper (painted) and a new light fitting.

Apologies for neighbour's hand, who suddenly pointed as I was taking the picture.

I had the same, someone hit overnight while parked.

The problem will be if they remove the front bumper to repaint it properly as one panel (which they should) the whole thing then requires a specialist to come and re-calibrate all the cameras and sensors. Mine took weeks.

Probably for the best . At least they left details for you but a colleague had similar damage and when other party who ' did not want to involve insurance ' received his 3 estimates of almost £4k they initially stopped all communication until he threatened them with legal action etc . Their insurance picked up the tab but he was left with an accident to disclose at renewal time ...

It's what you can't see that can be a concern - what damage has been done to subframe etc.

To be fair a Car Park knock, is not likely to damage the subframe. Still bloody annoying and inconvenient though.
At least you where hit by someone honest. If that's any consolation. Hope it's sorted quickly.

Fingers crossed!

The claim handler was very confident it would not be a write-off.

At least the other party were honest and left a note when the car was parked, possibly with no one around to witness etc.

Faith in humanity retained!

Very stressed now, though. Have several things due today and I've spent hours dealing with this.

Not great timing either because we have our heat pump install starting soon so the car was going to be used as a dog holding area.

Absolute minimum will be new bumper (plus paint) and headlight.

I'm also worried about the panel that no longer seems to align with the bonnet. but it isn't too bad as the door still opens fine.

I did a very similar scratch to my own car (photo in the camping in the MG4 thread) which cost £360 to fix and the car was in and out within a day. But I can see you have a panel out of alignment which I didn't, and is that a bit missing from the headlight cover?

Hope you get it sorted quickly.

Sounds pretty reasonable.

is that a bit missing from the headlight cover?
Yes, the top corner is missing so it is no longer a complete unit.

Hope you get it sorted quickly.
Cheers! I'm sure the insurance company would like that too as I'll be getting a hire car costing them £42 per day.

Take it to numerous paint repair shops and get quotes?

Bumper doesn't look that bad I wouldn't imagine that it will not need removed possible smart repair and possibly a couple of new securing clips and a headlamp but as I said get different quotes.
