hi everyone,

I'm looking at getting new tyres, as the original ones are on their way out. I would like to get slightly lower profile than the original ones - 55 instead of 60. Does anyone know if this could cause any issues, since the the wheels have the sensors for the pressure etc? Thanks!

If you put lower profile tyres on the same rims, won't that throw everything out? e.g. speedo, GOM etc?

It will have an effect as described above but there are tyre/wheel websites where you can quantify it.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I've done some digging, and it seems the overall difference is around 10mm, and to be honest, I think I might go for it. The speedo error will be around 3% (showing 61.95mph when doing 60mph) In the end, even with brand new vs old tyre the thread depth might differentiate even 5mm.

I have just replaced my tyres after 33k miles with Michelin Cross Climate 2's.
The grip is great but the noise in the wet where they are shifting the water sideways into the wheel arch is horrendous.
Hopefully I will get same mileage out of them.
