Newbie question ...Are most public 50+kw chargers tethered?

Just got my Trophy LR but it only came with a 3 pin charger not a CCS cable. Stressing now as if 50+kwh public chargers don't generally have a tethered cable I'm going to have to buy one ..... and I just looked at how much they cost!!

ALL DC chargers are tethered.

If you have AC (i.e. 7kW) then they are usually untethered and you would need a type 2 cable for it.

DC chargers (50kW+) use a different connector (has the extra two contacts at the bottom)

You can get a type 2 cable for about 120-150 on Amazon for a 5m one, that's what I got. You will need one if you ever plan on charging for free as they are usually untethered 7kW chargers.

You will need a cable and Podpoint app to 'confirm' free supermarket EVSE units. My Asda has a BP EVSE and needs to be started with the BP Pulse app.
