News on delivery of first Batch of IM6

I called Lookers yesterday that are dealing with my Ayvens order and they reached out to MG for an update - still no build slot (ordered 07/10 IM6 LR) and the backlog of orders has risen from 70 to 500! I was also told that it will unlikely arrive until April/May now!

I have kind of been left in limbo now as it's likely to late to order an alternative vehicle and my heart was set on the IM6 but my current PCP will ends mid April (some good news as I was under the impression it was March) really wish they had been more upfront with the leads times as I was originally told Nov/Dec!

Wow, thought I had it bad with my Alfa Romeos. Looks like western hemisphere demamd caught them ny surprise. Anyone still moaning about China overcapacity? Fingers crossed they underpromise and overdeliver!

I actually think leases are constantly bumped to the bottom of the pile, especially if a lot of private purchase orders are placed.
It is pretty annoying seeing how many are on auto trader available as in stock (which could be click bait)

Wowzer, sorry to hear your news that’s not good news at all. It may very well be that they have focused more on the performance and launch before the LR (which I have ordered also!). I ordered the last week of September and was given an estimate for February - I am through Vertu so will contact them on Monday for an update which I have avoided doing so far!

If there is still no build date and there are delays I may look elsewhere as I am not prepared to wait for another 4 or 5 months - even though through my lease provider will allow me to stay in my current car - I am just so fed up with the car I would probably go nuts staying in it as it has slowly driven me mad!

This doesn't read well... I ordered 3rd October through NHS Fleet Solutions a black IM6 LR, continuously have been told delivery expected in February (by Vertu MG), but no build date or VIN etc assigned at present... If the backlog is that high there's no chance mine will be here in Feb!

A cancellation and move to another brand will probably be on the cards sadly...

I ordered my IM6 LR on 18 Oct as a personal purchase and it arrived at the dealer about 8 Dec….

I ordered IM6 LR on 30th Sept. Was originally told end of Dec. Then early Jan. Now early Feb.

Think I’m going to call the fleet company and change it to a different brand as it feels like these dates will keep getting pushed back.

Not bad! Private sales are of course prioritised / allocated sooner if the dealer ordered a load before fleet opened up, so not too surprised at that - hope you're enjoying it!

I reckon two main reasons for these delays.
IM prioritising production and delivery for launch and performance since biggest profit margins.
Private sales priority since more profits for MG dealers.
It should normalize by summer time.

For reference I ordered my Launch end of October and got delivery on the 8th of December.
Sales manager mentioned to me that orders taken at that point would be April May deliveries.
They were caught by surprise on the demand.

To be fair to IM, a new premium brand based on MG was a complete sales unknown in Europe.

However, my less than stellar patient side contacted NHS fleet solutions to establish if I can cancel with no exit fee and they advised if it is not built it should not be a problem to switch to another vehicle with a quicker delivery time.

Will pop a post as and when I hear anything.

Perhaps they are taking a while to respond after Xmas holidays.

However, my less than stellar patient side contacted NHS fleet solutions to establish if I can cancel with no exit fee and they advised if it is not built it should not be a problem to switch to another vehicle with a quicker delivery time.

That is understandable if you need a vehicle.

Shame if you had deliberately selected this one, though. Presumably you got a good deal on it?

Aye I agree Bam Bam, it could be January blues - I am feeling it myself .

Yeh it was a good deal, and purely went on the price of it when ordered to be honest and a bit of a head over heart - will just wait the outcome before any definitive decision is made.

Ahh that’s a bummer I forgot about that. I have two cars through the scheme so I am able to use the other car to get a quote .

Please consider me a member of the club. Order mine in November through Arval. Told expected delivery would be 30th Jan and I should get an email from the dealership to confirm details. Heard nothing so far so I called Arval today who said they would look into it. Later in the day I get an email saying it's pushed back to February, but it could change.

I may cancel the order now aswell. I've had to wait 2 years to get to the point where I could order a company car. I'm not prepared to play the waiting game any longer

Yes, tracking data on the vehicle suggests it is due to land at the port on 7th February.

We need to factor in the pre delivery inspection and of course delivery lead times.

But based on that I’d say mid to late February for delivery.

Hopefully yours is on the same ship!
