News on delivery of first Batch of IM6

That's what the photos from IM show but if you actually Google white interior, the photos show it being chrome.

Anyone else removing the MG from the car? First thing I will be doing when I get mine 🤣
On my black LR. Both IM6 and MG logos removed, front logo and the boot one blackened. Looks badass ...

I've just ordered my Nevis Blue IM6 Long Range through my work salary sacrifice scheme.
I've just ordered the long range Nevis Blue with the "white" interior.. on a business lease..

I will be keeping a close eye on the forum to see what sort of feedback is entered.

Previously, I've had a BW iX, which was an amazing vehicle, but the prices have risen hugely, so cannot justify the spend.

I also looked at a Polestar 3, and had a test drive (I had a Polestar 2 when they first came out, which was OK, except for the extremely optimistic range figures ). To be honest, I was a little disapointed with the Polestar 3. (Also considered the Polestar 4, but it doesn't have a back window at all, and as we have a dog, we couldn't put her in the boot.)

The one I drove was priced at 90K plus.
Build Quality: Good
Interior: Bland, with no light colour options (very Tesla like, not too keen on the dash layout)
Comfort: Firm but acceptable.. OK for a sporty car, if that's where it is aimed..
Noise: Not too noisy, about average, but could still hear the road noise as the surfaces changed
Sound System: Excellent
What was it like to drive: Just OK.. Nothing special.

Is this a 90K car? ...... Definitely not! Woefully overpriced and by the time you've added those extras you would like.. Rediculous price and more expensive than the BMW iX
I cannot understand how they justify the pricing, but hey ho.. someone will buy them I guess.. It is based, I believe, on the Volvo XC90 floor plan, but it is actually not as big as the iM6!

Which brings me back to the iM6.

HALF the price of the Polestar and not far off half the price of the BMW iX.

I road tested the Launch edition, so I don't know what the suspension / ride is like in the long range. Performance was silly! 750BHP.. My license would be gone in a week! ....Unfortunately, the fun of driving a "lively" car has been extracted by successive governments, with their speed camera policy..

However, the seats were really excellent in the iM6. Very comfortable and certainly better than the Polestar. If the suspension in the long range is OK, then I will be very happy. It was a very quiet car as well!

I like my music in the car.. When I drove the Launch edition, I thought it was "OK".. I'm told that the sound system in the iM6 can be "tweaked", using the provided controls (equaliser etc) to be very good. Your opinions would be valued!

I also like my gadgets, and the iM6 has them in spades, compared to virtually any other car.. Providing the software glitches are sorted, this is one hell of a car for the money..

I would have liked the car to have included a HUD, which I've always found useful.. not a deal breaker, but would have been nice to have. I am surprised, since they are aiming up-market with this brand, and other Chinese brands have that option.

In China, I believe the steering wheel is different, so the dash has a clear and consistent view..

It would also be nice if the long range had a 4WD version with two motors of lesser power..

So, if I had the chance to get another BMW iX..... Hmmmm, perhaps I would cancel this one? I really don't know. But I'm hoping the information I glean from this forum will convince me I have made the right choice..

BTW, the dealer has been very helpful so far!

I’m sure they will call when they know something. Mine is also due on 8 Dec and I told them I need 2 weeks notice before I collect to get the ins. No point in chasing as I know they will tell em more as soon as they can.

Called again today, same story. Was promised call back, didn't happen of course.
I will not pursue further communication.
Will see how this goes.
Not happy with MG Chorley at the moment.

Surprised at this. MG Chorley seemed one of the better, MG dealers. Hope Miles reads this. .🙂👍

Well it's less than 2 weeks now....Not going to pay a last minute insurance due to incompetence.
Incompetence or couldn't give a toss. The fact that some garages don't have the courtesy or professionalism to reply to a customer who has made a commitment to purchase a car ( a large financial one on the customers part) does not bode well for when the customer is reporting any issues.

Lots of alarm bells for me

This is a bit of a newbie question. I have ordered through my work salsac scheme (Ayvens). They tell me the car will be delivered direct to my address (in Feb). Does that mean no dealership will be involved and that, for servicing etc., I'm essentially orphaned? Any advice from others that have ordered in a similar way would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Mark,

I can only answer from my own (nhs) salary sacrifice experience - but usually it is delivered to your home address with a handover completed. There will be a dealer that may be across the country for you..but don’t worry you should have access to local servicing, tyres, repairs and all that kind of thing and you usually just call up the fleet line and they arrange everything for you.

Hope that helps!

New to the forum 🙂

I ordered a LR IM6 black with grey interior through my works salary sacrifice (Ayvens) on 10/10.

They have decided to source the car through Lookers for some reason despite me having another MG dealership only a mile away.

Saw posts here and on Facebook about people receiving there vehicle already so thought I'd chase. Lookers contacted MG vehicle operations and the reply they got back was "This is awaiting build and will be a a minimum of 14 weeks" they also added "please keep in mind we currently have over 70 similar shortages order for this spec due to demand"

It's looking very much like it's going to be around 6 months from the point of order! Leaves me in a bit of a situation as I need to sell my present vehicle early March as the PCP ends in mid March.

This seems a ridiculous wait and short sighted of MG on the release of a brand new model.
