MG4 (2022-2025)
Today, I was sitting at a farm with my grandson waiting for my wife to appear.

I decided to play some of my grandson's favourite YouTube videos on my phone but I got no audio from my phone, that's when I realised that the phone was connected to the car audio system still.

So I decided to power off the MG4 but after this I still could not get any audio from my phone, so a little bit of investigation is seems that the phone stays connected to the MG4 via bluetooth even when you power off the car.....

In the end I had to physically disconnect from the car bluetooth....

This also explains why sometimes at home I get calls from people but I can't speak or hear them because the phone is connected to the MG4 outside even though it's turned off and locked.

I just tried this and my wife can hear me in the car audio when she was standing outside and I was in the house with the MG4 locked.

I don't know how long it takes for the car to physically disconnect the phone after locking...

Just accept that SAIC software and updates let the car down
Apparently it's not limited to their MG brand - LDV vehicles are similar

I noticed once that mine connected (or rather attempted to connect) to the phone as I was walking up to it, when the phone asked for confirmation to pair. I had already unlocked the car with the fob.

Our MG4 does it to me all the time, I have to put my phone on speaker if the MG is on because the wife is in it keeping cool or driving in/out of the yard ..... I probably should unpair it with the MG4 because I use the USB cord anyway to keep the phone charged with using Google maps and listening to my play list on the phone, so I don't actually need the Bluetooth connection
