A good thread never dies, it just rests in the archives for a while. The heating and battery SOC causing a loss of power was an interesting tip that came out of it ...... not to self, if running from the cops, don't make it a long drawn out thing

Just seen this for the first time.
What impressed me most was the quietness in the car, and the fact that all the roaring noise was the Porsche in front or the one that overtook the X Power.

The one that passed the XPower brought a bit of reality back to it, it might be a quick road car, but it's no full blown race car

At the price the Xpower is amazing and it stands well in the performance stakes. You would expect a £80,000 plus Porsche to be able to obliterate the Xpower but the little cheap Xpower held its own very nicely IMHO.

Might have been driver skill in play there as well, not much opposite lock oversteer happening with the tail-wagging Porche .... just an overpowered VW really, the handling is just as atrocious off the showroom floor, but the race version that passed him, complete with the race experienced driver, showed the huge difference between great for a showroom road car to a full race prepared unit ....... and it could do that sort of performance for more than 2 laps ......
