Occasionally won't switch modes

Sometimes when I come up to a junction in custom mode (which I have set up for everything eco) and stop, I want to change to sport mode to get away from the junction. But it won't let me change mode (Only tried from steering wheel button). As soon as I start moving, it then allows it. Doesn't happen everytime. Any ideas?

Just found this on another thread in the MG4 forum

If you indicate and the camera comes on, you cannot change driving modes on the custom button. So if it's a dodgy junction and you want sport but are in eco, you have to turn the indicator off, exit camera view, change mode, then indicate again

Now that's just weird. Has to be a bug. Also annoying is the way you have to cycle through all the modes including snow which reverts almost everything to default and just leaves it there.

After a couple of days ownership, it's easy to remember the sequence of modes from 'Normal', no need to look at the screen, 2-3 seconds and the new mode is selectedjust by pressing button the correct number of times.

Yeah but if you're in custom or sport and you want to switch to normal for a long boring motorway run, you can't get there using the star button without cycling all the way through all the options, including snow. Which resets things like OPD, etc.

What? How many options are there? There will be only a maximum of 4 other options to cycle thru, 3-4 seconds. A non issue.

sigh One of those options, the last one, is 'snow.' For some reason, that option resets things like OPD to default. Normally those stay the way you set them through restarts, but snow resets them all.

For me when you cycle through ECO and it reduces the HVAC performance that is always a pain. It would be good to have each mode reset everything rather than leave certain things where they were for a different mode.

That's because you've enabled the HVAC toggle to follow ECO mode. Turn that off and HVAC should remain unchanged.

For some reason, that option resets things like OPD to default.

I think that's because OPD could cause skidding in snow, as it can apply the brakes when you lift your foot from the pedal. I find the need to cycle through the regeneration levels annoying; Mu old car used to have paddles for that; much easier.

You can actually disable your camera for good, so it only comes on when reversing - rather than each time you use indicators - then you can change your modes without any issues.
