So it seems MG no longer fit one one touch windows on the XPOWER and presumably the Trophy too, because whatever I do or try I cannot get them to work on my new vehicle.

The driver’s window works correctly but the other three only operate with one touch down, but not up.

They give with one hand - interior LED bulbs now standard, but take more away with the other - splitters no longer painted, one touch windows not fitted.

MG are obviously just using whatever parts they have spare, to assemble the last of the model.
I think that is what they did from the start with some cars.

Auto dimming rear view mirrors in SRs (although didn't connect them)
Tinted windows in the SRs

I am sure there were more

Many moons ago when Citroen produced the early Picasso models they ran out of glass roofs on the production line. It was cheaper to keep the line running and just produce cars without that "feature".

It is pretty much the same for all production lines, more cost effective to keep them running than stop them and wait for parts. This is why every manufacturer will have this in their paperwork somewhere...
