Opening boot after rain

Does anyone else have this happen to them.

After it has rained, if you open the boot, it seems that water has collected inside the boot handle section, so when it lifts up, it then all pours out and soaks you

To some extent this happens on most cars. I tend to stand clear just in case!

I must be lucky, never had it on another car, it's like a waterfall!

Every single time. The thought that popped into my head when it first happened . . . "I guess it doesn't rain in China"

My MG5 collects rainwater under the handle when it's open and the sends a cascade down my neck when I close it (if I forget to stand back...)

I'm trying to work out how this could happen. I could maybe understand if it was still raining when you open the boot lid, but after it has rained?

After who knows how many cars, finally having one with a motorised boot feels very posh. Although to be honest, the whole car has that kind of vibe.

The temptation to sit and open and close the boot from the remote occasionally, gets too much and I have to go and pretend I left something in it!

Can honestly say I've never ever noticed a water problem with the boot & the MG badge area.
