Hello,

I own an MG4 and have been using the iSmart app to monitor my vehicle remotely.

After a long period without driving the vehicle (although the traction battery remained well charged), I noticed the following:

The app is still communicating with the vehicle: I receive updated battery status including date and time.

However, the Vehicle Status section (showing mileage, doors, tyre pressure, location, etc.) is no longer working.

I have already tried the following:

Restarting the iSmart app and my phone and Checked for app updates.

Unfortunately, the issue persists.
I would like to know whether this is:
A normal behaviour after long vehicle inactivity (e.g. ECUs going to sleep?),
Or a technical issue requiring inspection of the telematics unit or a system update.

It could be the car going to sleep, but when mine does that (and sometimes it will do it after only a few hours, although it's usually about 24 hours) the app doesn't get any updates at all. The time of last update and the data don't change.

The usual way to clear this is to unlock the car using the key, which wakes it up. On winter mornings sometimes I have to unlock the car while it's in the garage by going to the wall of my bedroom that adjoins the garage and pressing the unlock button on the key. Then lock it again because it doesn't like pre-heating when it's unlocked.
