I’m picking mine up Thursday and must admit I’m a bit disappointed that they have changed the lower trim on the front and back as it’s now exactly the same as the SE. It was one of the few styling differences and I like it.
As yours has the same build date mine it will be exactly the same. I got mine for a complete steal though! He said they added an extra discount due to the VIP event but I didn’t really believe it. When I was signing the finance agreement I couldn’t get the numbers to add up and it turned out they’d tried to sneak on Dimondbrite paint protection. I got that removed and works out I got the car for £24440 on the road in Camden Grey!!
It so bonkers a deal a mate of mine looked into getting one and my dealer is now asking full price. Carwow is coming up with all sorts of offers but not many with the massive discount. I can’t see anything about a change in specs on the MG website (is this documented?)… so I’m wondering if they actually built a run to the wrong specifications and have spread them around dealers at a knockdown price?
I’m not gonna complain about it, it was a bargain and I’m very excited to collect mine. But it got me thinking about why they are so cheap, despite the reason the dealer gave me.
It’s an odd thing to do on purpose, Matt grey with carbon fibre effect at the front like all the others, black gloss with silver in the middle and black Matt at the back like all the others. Seems like a mistake at the factory rather than a design change!
I was told the discount was a Q1 event. The discount in my dealer was on all trim level of MG4.
So first week done;
I have had a trip on the motorway using the cruise control and that was lovely (increments in 1 mph) and everything behaved so much so I was told to keep my hands on the wheel many times as I was holding it too lightly.
Around the City on my commute, again no issues and I am not seeing any issues with the car wrenching the steering with lane keep assist. However, the speed limit sign recognition is poor, it is the main cause of alarm noises on my commute when the car thinks I am speeding.
In answer to @Chrisdriving I have had zero bluetooth issues. I use an iPhone 16 Pro with a wireless CarPlay dongle set to 30 second delay. I have however had a couple of black screen situations with the CarPlay when I have just got in the car and gone straight away. A quick removal of the dongle and replace sorts it out.
Managed to get a 'launch' in last night, roads were a bit greasy after rain but it was still mental!
Yesterday, I think it was a Trophy spec was following me and when it indicated the indicator was within the front light cluster where as my car has the indicators where people have the 'fangs'. Are all Powers like this and I just haven't noticed?
Finally, yesterday morning I had the opportunity to use the iSmart app in anger and pre heat the car whilst I was having my breakfast. The heated seat and steering wheel are so nice to go out to.
I read all the issues on here and don't doubt anyone. However they must have changed something as apart from the Speed Recognition, I have so far, in my 300 miles not noticed any of the typical issues. I can't wait to drive it every day and have not tired of all the questions I get asked when pulling up places in it.
