Hi,

I sometimes like to listen music / podcasts with files that are over 1hr long from the USB stick.

While it works, I find that leaving the car then coming back to it, the car starts playing the same audio file, but it starts playing back right from the beginning. Rather annoying if you are over an hour into a 2-3 hour podcast.

Is there a setting somewhere that allow the file to be played back from where it left off, similar to a tape player? Many iOs / Android apps have this option, for example

Currently my workaround it to skip the file forward at the start of every journey which is pretty annoying.

From my experience, using a USB stick means it will remember the last song you played, but start it again from the beginning.....
I see you are an MG4 user??.....my USB music stick defaulted to an all-songs menu and started with the first song in that list every time!! If you have created a menu that starts the same audio file as the previous 'session', then either the system has been updated from mine, or your files are arranged better!!
The S5 does start the song previously being played which is much better, but I fear you may have to somehow scroll or fast forward to the point you were at previously......

Mine starts the last played file from the beginning, unless I get back in the car quickly (say popping into the shop), then the music continues where I left off. The biggest nuisance for me with usb music in this car is how it always reverts back to playing all the songs on the drive

Yep, if you're an MG4 owner, that's what they do.....
I had a nostalgia period where I purchased a few songs from the 60's, including -' A Windmill In Old Amsterdam'!!
I should have renamed it....as that was the first song the MG4 would start playing every time.....'I saw a mouse'.......🙈🙈🙈

I did go through my USB and number all the tracks, so it will play in album order. Sometimes it does not matter, but when the order is important, like a live recording, it does make a difference.

There may be a problem with USB sticks over 32Gb.
There's a theory that the player needs the stick to be formatted as FAT32 in order to get it to start where it finished last time.
As FAT32 can't handle anything over 32Gb, a bigger device is probably formatted in EXfat.
If that's the case formatting it in FAT32 should allow last play position to work, but you can only store 32Gb.

You could be right on that. I tried a 128GB stick. It would work once and then after that would claim to be corrupted. I've gone to using a 8GB stick now which works fine for me.
