Please help - I can't get my new ZS EV Connect to charge

Hi

I've just brought my new ZS EV Connect home and I can't get it to charge. I have tried with both the 3 pin plug and with the high speed charger but I am not having any joy.

The blue arrow lights come on but they don't flash or turn green. Is there a magic trick to turning on the charging - both charger options seem to think the car is fully charged. Is there something I should do? The battery is showing 53% .

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Does it have the charge limiter set to a value below your current state of charge? Or do you have a charge timer set?

Hi, if you plug in a type2 lead it should start charging but lock the car to lock the lead in.
How much charge is in the car.?
Try going for a short drive then plug in again or visit a supermarket to try a PodPoint.

Thank you - it was because the charging level was set at 50 PC and the battery was at 53 PC. I've swiped to 100 PC and it is now charging. It seems daft but how would I have known that ? The user manual is a little short on detail! Thanks for your help - I love the car but I'm not good at working all these things out

Arrhhhh ................ You must have the long range version and not the standard range model then !.
As you can only adjust the SOC ( State Of Charge ) level in the long range, but the standard range models automatically charge to up to 100% every time it is plugged in.
You can set the charge level on the App or in the head unit on the LR.
The App is an deal tool for showing what SOC your charging level is currently set too.
On the LR it is recommended that you set your charge level to 80% for everyday use and then charge up to 100% for the longer distance trips.

Yep I have the long range - I only picked it up last Saturday and I've done one longish run (100 miles) and some around town driving. It held the charge well on the long run- the range went down exactly mile for mile with the actual distance. Thanks for that 80% tip - will do.

You are very welcome !.
I tend to charge to 80% for the majority of our travel needs.
Charging to 80% will return you a predicted range of 211 miles.
More than enough to suit your usage pattern by the looks of it Donna !.
Yeah - On average the range will drop roughly mile for mile, unless you are driving like you stole it or in very cold conditions, when the cabin heater is having heavy use.
There is no need to charge to 100% every single time, unless you need ALL of that range for longer trips.

As part of the PDI, the car should be charged to 100% and given a balance charge. It your max charge was set to 50%, this may suggest that the PDI balance charge has not been completed. If so, you should complete a balance charge asap as the car has been sat around in compounds and ships for many months. Your dealer will be able to advise whether a balance charge has been completed.
