Polystyrene airpump and gunge holder.

Hi,
I have just ordered a spacesaver spare wheel, tool kit and wheel bag for my MG4.
Is it possible to remove the polystyrene tray that holds the gunk pump and gubbins? The extra space would be useful.

Yes it is - there are a few bolts that can be undone and the whole "tray" lifts out.

Unfortunately, removing the polystyrene tray only gains you a few centimetres extra depth towards the rear of the boot, not the full boot size, as this recent picture from @AndrewS demonstrates.

You will have to make some supports for the boot floorboard edges if you're going to put any weight on it.
