Recently, the power steering has worsened to the point we don't feel safe to drive the car. The car has been booked in for inspection with the dealer (2 week wait), but interested if anyone else has had the same issue - in that as you turn the wheel, it alternates between feeling light and to feeling resistant (or harder to turn). It gets gradually worse the more we use the car.

The car is a 2023 Trophy with around 30k on the clock.

I have an SE rather than a Trophy, but I don't think the mechanism differs between the models. I haven't experienced such an issue, and don't recall this being mentioned previously by anyone. So it might just be an issue with your car.

I've recently developed the same issue with my 23 plate 4 SE I thought I was losing my mind , I've got no warnings on the dash but it keeps going choppy, so after seeing your post I've got booked in the dealer as got a 450 mile trip next month

My power steering issues are far worse. I was thankfully in a car park turning into an empty bay when I lost all steering. The steering wheel could spin freely in either direction without affecting the wheels. The MG dealer says the steering wheel has become disengaged and the clock spring is broken. This doesn't give me any confidence for the future. As it's a no-cost repair under warranty I get the feeling that it's a known fault. I hate to think what could have happened if I'd been on a motorway or going round a roundabout or a corner.
Has this happened to anyone else?
MG4 Trophy, 23 plate.
