Hi, has anyone successfully resolved the issue of the vehicle frequently being unable to connect remotely to the iSmart app? It works about 50/50 for me. I drive home or to work, and even two hours after parking, I still can't connect to the app. I can try again and again for hours, but the vehicle simply won't connect. The only thing that helps is when I'm at home, I unlock the vehicle with the remote key. Then the app connects. The vehicle apparently goes into some kind of deep sleep mode where it doesn't respond to mobile data connections. But this happens in places where there is sufficient data signal. This is obviously a fault. I'm wondering if anyone knows the cause so I can direct the service department, because they claim they don't know... I have a feeling I read somewhere about a faulty SIM module in the vehicle. Thank you.

I get it occaisionally. I've noticed it can be at peak periods like rush hour & concluded it could be the MG server

I have the same problem. Car is in this week for more software. These aren't upgrades they are rectifications to defective software. Hope they solve the problem.

Good luck with trying to get the dealer to be open and honest about the state of the software. After multiple complaints in writing to MG Motors UK Customer Services about the terrible software in my car and the crap app, I have given up trying to get any kind of service from them as a customer. The updated software in the car is still seriously defective and the app simply does not work consistently. The MG4 is a great car ruined by computer geeks who don't know what they are doing. They have no idea what it is like to own and drive these cars in real life away from a sterile test track in China. I have lost count of the number of times that I have bound my phone to the car only to find it has unbound itself just a few hours later. When you get in the car, you have no idea what settings the heating and aircon might have remembered or which radio station it is tuned to. Sometimes the touchscreen is completely dead so you cannot disable the wretched ELK. MG Motors UK will not admit that there is anything wrong with their software so we will just have to lump it

I've never had these problems and it mainly (always?) seems to be people with Trophys who complain about this. The SE software has its bugs (to be fair, mostly fixed now), but at least it's stable and predictable. You'd think if they can get it at least tolerable for the SE they could do a better job on the Trophy.

Whilst my MY22 Trophy (registered April 2023) requires me to re-pair Bluetooth occasionally and, even then, ignoring it and connecting android auto forces it to remember the pairing. Again, occasionally, the info screen does not come alive immediately - I just wait - and it starts.

ISmart is not brilliant but works most >95% of the time.

My info version is R33 and I have not asked for any non-required upgrades.

Hi, I've seen this error twice in 14 months, once when I had a minute of data and once when I registered a downed server. So I can say that I don't have any problems. Do you have the latest version of the app? What phone do you have? I have Android 12 and no problems.

Mine used to do this a lot, but after one of the app updates, it is now rare and usually only after a couple of days being idle.

I found that when it happened, if you ask the app for the status before sitting on the seat to power it up, the 12V battery was typically 12.1 or 12.2 V compared to its normal range of 12.3 to 12.6. If you find the same on yours it could indicate the 12V is not getting topped up from the HV battery before it goes in to deep sleep perhaps.
