PSA: Remember to close your sunglasses compartment before opening the door, so you don’t rip it off, like I did

Luckily it glues back on

I must have opened the compartment to get my glasses out and then forgot to close it.

When the door opened, the seat went back and the seatbelt must have snagged the compartment opening.

Something had to give, and an almighty snapping noise occurred before I could do anything and the little door ripped off.

Luckily, the fake leather bit is glued to the actual mechanism so the glue failed first and I’ve just got to stick it back on when I get a moment (its wedged with push fit for now)

Same happened to me - same deal, opened to put on sunglasses while driving but flap doesn't spring closed so it's a design fault - as you say it's glued together so I'll get the dealer to fix it when they address the charging flap not opening issue, the intermittent Carplay connection, the radio staying on when you've pressed the MG button on the remote etc - I think there needs to be a software upgrade because its VERY frustrating (how slow is the response time on the infotainment screen fgs?)
