Purchasing MGZS

I am looking to change my MG5 standard range for the MGZS long range. I was wondering how you existing owners are finding the actual range in normal operating conditions against the WLPT. My 3 years experience with the MG5 range has been very good with me easily achieving close to the stated range in normal conditions.

In winter, I did a 218 mile round trip from 100% and got back with about 12% left.

Yesterday I did a 104 mile journey, starting with 88% and arrived with 52%.

On my standard range, yesterday on mixed 40 min drive from 20-30mph city drive , 10 min on 40mph speed limit to 70-ish burst on A road it averaged about 4.8 from memory... but can't remember clearly.

My worst average is never below 4 and on nice smooth local drives averaging 25-30mph it's often over 5.

3.9 m/kWh. I was really impressed with that. 65mph on the ACC. There were road works and hold ups, so average speed was 43mph.

I get or exceed the wltp (273 miles) for about 8 months of the year and get less for about 4 months of the year. LRTC 72 model. I drive at about 65mph on the motorway (or less if prevailing traffic conditions make it so) using ACC / MG Pilot. I turn on/off heating / air con as and when required. If the temp is comfortable I will switch it off until I need to turn it back on. When I went to Cornwall last summer, on my journey to Exeter (I have always stayed overnight on the way there, irrespective of car type), I got the equivalent of 270 miles, fully loaded, 4 passengers ( 2 adults, 2 young teenagers) , with a Roofbox (albeit an aerodynamic Thule one designed for EVs). Going to Stockport from Londom last December (28th) in lashing rain (fully loaded with 4 again but no roofbox) , after a journey of about 190 miles , I had about 30 miles left. ( started at 100% charge). I charge using a granny charger at my folks so was not bothered about only arriving with 30 miles left.

Thank you very much for your response. My MG5 drops to about 160 to 170 miles in winter so 200+ will be great for me.

My experience seems the same as others on here with my LRTC. I regularly get around 4.6 to 5 M/KWH in the summer and this can drop to around 3.2 in the winter. I drive at 65mph on the motorway with the ACC on and air con/heating off like Ruislip Resident as well as in eco mode (a lot of people say it makes no difference but i definitely do notice that it does). The car can easily reach the expected 275 mile range and in my experience even exceed it.
