Hi, purchased a new HS previous in June last year, DAB radio had to use an extra aerial until update was available. I was subsequently contacted to take car in for update 3 months ago. I now receive DAB without extra aerial but unable to save any stations also in FM band the panel does not show what stations are playing just the wavelength. It is now in my mind a backward step.
Went back to dealer and they said they cannot do anything about it.
Anybody else had same problem?

Do a search mate it's a long-term issue that MG has bodged to save a few quid. However, saps like us took their word for it that this would be fixed correctly this as you now well know is not the case.

It wasn't a botch to save a few quid, it was a temporary solution to continue to sell cars in the UK, there was a shortage of DAB modules, meaning that it would have been illegal to continue selling the cars in the UK, so that had to come up with the temporary solution to continue sales.

MG has launched yet another incomprehensible repair campaign to replace a DAB set using an antenna stuck to the glass with a module using an internal antenna. Both modules have similar functionality: no RDS and no saving of favourite stations, and use the right-hand USB port.

I installed the original radio module in a dedicated location.

There is DAB and RDS.

I attach a document from MG RMI describing the procedure for installing the module without RDS.

Just use the RBRM module 10979150 and plug in the FM and USB connectors in addition.

Then swap the antenna connectors located under the right lower pillar cover.

The last step is to upgrade the DAB/RDS in the engineering settings - page 3.
