The issue is that they will not be EV tyres, my understanding is that you should get optimised tyres given the increased weight from the battery and high instant torque (the car weighs ~2 tonnes).
I agree that what you suggest is a solution but the tyres will likely wear much quicker and there are other factors including safety. I am not a tyre expert but a
cursory search suggests that you should use EV tyres.
The Cyberster is a performance car and I would want the correct tyres on it. Below is an example of a
tyre manufacturers explanation of why EV tyres are different.
So disappointing that UK customers are left in this situation. I am hoping that MG will work with Pirelli to resolve asap and provide an interim solution for those of us unfortunate enough to require a tyre replacement.
Be interesting to hear the views of other UK owners, would you be OK with non-EV tyres on your car given the performance/specifications of the Cyberster?
